Background
DOWLEX™ 2344 PE Resin is a type I PE-RT resin, offering good flexibility. It is an ethylene-octene copolymer produced by our proprietary Solution process and featuring a unique molecular structure with a controlled side chain distribution, which provides excellent stress crack resistance properties combined with very good hydrostatic strength.

DOWLEX 2344 PE Resin provides improved hydrostatic strength and processability over existing materials in a variety of heating/cooling systems. Pipes produced from the resin also offer excellent stress crack resistance, thermal conductivity, and good flexibility.

DOWLEX 2344 PE Resin offers two major installation benefits: improved connectivity and greater flexibility than traditional materials. It can be welded, which enables connection through inexpensive, injection-molded connectors.

Pipes manufactured using DOWLEX 2344 PE Resin are designed to have a calculated lifetime of more than 50 years, according to internationally accepted rules. They are compliant with most drinking water regulations worldwide.

DOWLEX 2344 PE Resin has over 20 years of proven history in domestic pipes and is particularly well suited for heating pipe applications, thanks to its excellent flexibility.

Processability
Typical extrusion temperatures for processing of DOWLEX 2344 PE Resin range from 190 to 230°C. The use of a reverse temperature profile may be beneficial to certain types of processing equipment. Further details can be found in our Extrusion Guide (54KB PDF)

DOWLEX 2344 PE Resin should comply with FDA regulation 177.1520 when used unmodified and processed according to good manufacturing practices.

Applications
DOWLEX 2344 PE Resin is designed for hot and cold water pipe applications and is well suited for floor heating, wall heating/cooling, ceiling cooling, radiator connections, warm/cold drinking water distribution, and solar panels.
